Welcome!! The past month has been a busy one. We completed work on our just-released new report on The Wines of Priorat. We also traveled to Monterey to begin preparing our next report on The Wines of Monterey and its AVAs. We also posted several new online wine articles at www.i-winereview.com and on our i-winereview blog. As usual, subscribers have full access to all reports and articles.

We’ve summarized the key articles below, in case you’ve missed them. We’re also pleased to report that the International Wine Review has joined Stephen Tanzer, Jancis Robinson, and the Burghound [Allen Meadows] in becoming a content channel for CellarTracker, the national online wine search publication. All IWR wine ratings can now be accessed by everyone on CellarTracker. The full reviews continue to be available to subscribers only. CellarTracker.com

Report #28 The Wines of Priorat

Priorat is one of Spain's most spectacular wine successes of the past quarter century. In this report we look at Priorat's ancient and modern wine history, the wine pioneers of the region, the special terroir, the old terraced vineyards, and the blend of traditional and modern winemaking that creates these magnificent wines. Our reviews of over 150 Priorat wines are presented and are also available on our website. Read the introduction to the report here.

New French Wine Releases
from Robert Kacher Selections

We recently sat down with importer Robert (Bobby) Kacher to taste through a significant portion of his extensive French portfolio. Bobby is one of the most important wine importers in the U.S. and his wines are always fresh, lively and offered at great prices.

Donnafugata: Italian Wines of Quality and Authenticity

This family winery is one of Sicily's leading producers. Its wines are of a very high quality due to the care and attention given in the vineyards and the winery. Donnafugata's grapes are sourced from well-managed, low-yielding vineyards and the wines are well-made and authentic expressions of both Sicilian and international varieties.

Portugal's Top 50 Wines

International Wine Review's selection of the 50 best wines of Portugal based on our review of over 500 wines in Report #24 The New Wines of Portugal. Our list reveals improvements in table wines from all regions, not Just the Douro. We were especially impressed with several newer producers we found in the Alentejo, Vinho Verde, and elsewhere

Richard Longoria Wines

Rick Longoria is one of Santa Barbara's most talented winemakers. However, after tasting his newly released Pinot Noirs, we realize we've been too reticent in our praise. We tasted four Pinot Noirs—the 2008 Fe Ciega, the 2009 Bien Nacido Vineyard, the 2009 Lovely Rita, and the 2009 Rancho Santa Rosa—and rate them outstanding.
